Tick Tock…

The 2017 H1 GP A’ Level examinations will be happening on the 6th of November at 8 AM. One of the largest obstacles that students face is the lack of time. Here, we share with you a few tips to make the most of your time.

Paper 1 (Essay)

We never ever advise our students to draw up a mind map or an outline before writing their essay. It is an absolute waste of time. Instead, we encourage them to think through their essay when they pen their introduction.

Paper 2 (Summary)

Always do the summary first when tackling your Paper 2! By working on your summary, you get a more cohesive understanding of the passage. We recommend that you read the summary question first before reading the passage. This way, you can actively scan for key points in the passage while you are reading it.

Paper 2 (Comprehension Questions)

Once you are done with your summary, move on to your comprehension questions. You should finish both your summary and your comprehension questions within 50 minutes. We recommend you leave at least 40 minutes for your AQ.

Paper 2 (Application Question)

And here’s the most important part of your Paper 2. This section is where your markers will derive your language mark. Therefore, your application question actually represents half of your Paper 2’s grade! Read the question carefully before answering it.
